RV Raman has resigned as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of online classifieds and ecommerce company JustDial, the company informed the BSE. Raman quit JustDial last week, on the 19th of October.
This is the second CTO the company has lost within a year. In November last year, Sandipan Chattopadhyay had resigned as the CTO for unknown reasons. At the time, the company mentioned that he would continue to advise it on technical matters.
Subsequently the company appointed RV Raman as CTO in January this year. However, he was the deputy CTO of the company for around 5 months from the time Chattopadhyay had announced his intention to resign. Prior to this, he was Vice President of Engineering at Forus Health and the General Manager for India Operators of Slingbox.
Note that earlier this year in June, Shailendra Singh, Managing Director of Sequoia Capital India, left JustDial’s board of directors. A month before, Ravi Adusumalli, Managing Partner at SAIF Partners had also left the company’s board.
JustDial financials: JustDial reported operating revenue of Rs 180.3 crore, up 10% year-on-year (YoY), for the quarter ended September 2016. Net profit stood at Rs 29.6 crore, down 26.8% from Rs 40.49 crore in the same quarter last year. On a sequential basis, net profit decreased 23.9% from Rs 38.93 crore. JustDial’s employee count also decreased to 11,799 from 11,932 last quarter.
