Online food delivery app Runnr has appointed Garima Gupta as CFO. Gupta joins Runnr from Nxtradata (data centre business of Bharti) where she was CFO and has worked with Airtel as deputy GM of strategy and business support and global business planning and analytics. Gupta has also worked with Bharti Enterprises as senior manager of investor relations, senior manager at Genpact, assistant manager at Airtel and financial executive at Sony.
It has also hired Aadish Dhakad as supply operations head, who joins from Uber, Deutsche Bank and Reliance Infrastructure Limited; Ankit Jain as head of data science and analytics who joins from ClearSlide, General Assembly, Bank of America, Facebook and Schlumberger Asia Services Ltd; and Prabhat Agrawal as head of Corporate Meals in Bangalore. Agarwal has been working with the company for a year now and joined Runnr from Dazo (which shutdown last October), Navajyoti Gases, GoPeppers and Jones Lang LaSalle Property Consultant India.
In June this year, Carthero Technologies, the parent of logistics and supply chain company Roadrunnr acquired food delivery app TinyOwl for an undisclosed amount. TinyOwl rebranded to Runnr after the acquisition, after they were expected to be merged. TinyOwl had shuttered operations across all its cities except some areas of Mumbai in May this year and was expected to launch in Bangalore in 2-4 months.
Runnr was founded in 2015 by Mohit Kumar and Arpit Dave. According to TinyOwl’s former CEO Harshvardhan Mandad, Runnr is expected to launch sequentially in 6 cities. While speaking to MediaNama, Mandad said that the company would have delivery control over its orders, unlike TinyOwl’s system where restaurants delivered food on their own.
