Another top level exit at PayU India and this time it is the company's head of finance, Gurpreet Singh. Singh confirmed his departure at PayU to MediaNama and said he will be joining HCL Technologies in a "leadership position" but did not give further details. Singh was part of the core leadership team at PayU was also responsible for formulating business strategy and vision and managing investor’s expectations, according to his LinkedIn profile. Last week, Abhishek Tripathi, who headed merchant acquisition at PayU, joined Airtel Payments Bank to head their SMB business. In July, Saranjeet Singh joined Airtel Payments Bank from PayU. At Airtel Payments Bank, Singh will be responsible for digital marketing for the launch of he service. PayU recently acquired payments company Citrus Pay for $130 million in an all cash deal. Following the deal, Nitin Gupta said that he would be stepping down from his role as CEO and pursue another venture. Meanwhile, Citrus Pay’s managing director Amrish Rau would take over the reins of the combined entity as CEO, he told. Citrus’s other co-founder, Jitendra Gupta, and PayU’s Shailaz Nag would be taking leadership positions in the company. Other appointments at PayU In September 2015, the company hired former Snapdeal executive Aakash Moondhra as its global chief financial officer. Moondhra would be responsible for handling the company’s finance operations and develop Naspers’ financial tech business.
