Programmatic advertising company C1X Inc has appointed Rammohan Sundaram as their MD & SVP for Asia Pacific and Middle East & Africa. C1X is two and half years old, has recently reased $8.5 million from Venture Labo Investment of Japan and UTEC. C1X offers advertising solutions for Demand Side Platform, Supply Side platform, a Data Management Platform, and ecommerce ad-servers, which has been recently deployed in India at ecommerce company Shopclues. Sundaram joins after launching a “video selfie” app last year, called Velfie, prior to which he was CEO of Ibibo Ads. Update: In response to our statement that Ibibo Ads never quite launched, Sundaram informs MediaNama that IbiboAds had built a realtime bidding engine for its retargeting business, which was deployed on several exchanges, including Google, and was a premium partner with Google.
In the past, Sundaram has founded PlatformPlay, which was backed by the SVG Media group, and was eventually merged with their PrecisionMatch business. Before PlatformPlay, Sundaram had founded NetworkPlay, which he exited after selling the business to the Bertelsmann group. He has also worked with Yahoo India, Tribal DDB, Madison Communications, Jobsahead.com, Encore Events, Microland Group and Indian Express.
