Pradeep Shrivastava, who joined Reliance Jio as its Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) on May last year has stepped down from the post, an Economic Times report said on Tuesday. MediaNama reached out to Jio for a confirmation and we are yet to hear back from them. At Jio, Shrivastava lead the marketing business operation. Prior to joining Jio, Shrivastava was the director and chief marketing and commerce officer at XL Axiata, an Indonesian telecom operator, according to his LinkedIn profile. Shrivastava has over 30 years of experience in the telecom, FMCG, advertising, export, franchising & retailing and institutional and durable sales sectors. Before XL Axiata, Shrivastava worked as the CXO of Robi Axiata in Bangladesh, which was an investor in Shrivastava’s previous employer Idea Cellular. At Robi Axiata, he took care of sales, marketing, customer service and enterprise business and business IT operations. He also held the position of director of operations at Videocon Telecommunications for over a year. At Videocon, Shrivastava was overseeing sales, service and marketing related activities for Videocon’s telecom operations. He was also the CMO of Idea Cellular for over 8.5 years. Before this, Shrivastava worked as the VP of international business at The Global Green company for about 3 years and as the business head and senior product manager of ice cream at Hindustan Lever (now known as Unilever) for 7 years.
