The Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) saw a 7.32% growth in the total transactions taking place between June and July 2016, although there was a 1.59% increase in total number of Mobile Money IDs (MMID), according to data published by the National Payments Corporation of India.
The transaction volumes grew on a monthly basis to 35.90 million (35,901,811 transactions) from 33.45 million transactions (33,451,850 transactions) while the amount transacted increased by 3.14% on a monthly basis to Rs 26,662.9 crore. The average transaction amount decreased by 3.90% on a monthly basis to Rs 7,426.6 .
