The Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) saw a 7.58% growth in the total transactions taking place between May and June 2016, although there was a 2.02% increase in total number of Mobile Money IDs (MMID), according to data published by the National Payments Corporation of India. The transaction volumes grew on a monthly basis to 33.45 million (33,451,850 transactions) from 31.09 million transactions (31,093,969 transactions) while the amount transacted increased by 10.19% on a monthly basis to Rs 25,852.1 crore. The average transaction amount increased by 2.43% on a monthly basis to Rs 7,728.18 crore. Month-wise details: Bank Status Currently, 53 commercial banks are signed up for IMPS.
