CarDekho launches BatteryDekho
Auto-portal CarDekho has launched website BatteryDekho, a battery research and discovery portal. BatteryDekho allows people to read about different automobile batteries, compare prices from different brands, compatibility with the automobile and find dealers near you selling a particular battery. The website also contains features like “Ask an expert” along with detailed articles containing battery review, in-depth videos and tips on general and specific battery maintenance. CarDekho had previously launched TyreDekho, a tire research and discovery portal in March, 2015.
AWS opens an infrastructure region in Mumbai
Amazon Web Services launched an infrastructure region in Mumbai served from various data-centres. This is the first region in India and the sixth in the Asia-Pacific(APAC) region. The region is part of the $5 billion investment that it’s parent company Amazon has announced towards India. The infrastructure region consists of two separate ‘Availability Zones’ with independent power, cooling and security. This allows for immediate disaster recovery as well as providing backups in a single region. The Mumbai region Amazon is planning to launch at-least 5 datacentres in India, as reported by Economic Times.
Shopo reaches 2 lakh sellers
Shopo, the zero-commission mobile-based marketplace by Snapdeal has reached 2 lakh sellers on its platform. Launched in July, 2015 the app targets 50 million SMBs under-equipped to pass the entry-level barriers of the online B2C markets. It clocked a growth of 50% in last 3 months after reaching 1 lakh sellers in April, 2016. The app has a built in chat functionality allowing buyers to exchange views and images whilst also allowing them to share their products over a host of social platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest etc.
nexGTv launches a news app
After launching a separate humour-focussed app, Comedy one, nexGTv has launched a news app that will aggregate video content from leading TV news channels. The app claims to aggregate content from over 40 regional, national and international channels, The app will also serve interviews and programs like Mann ki Baat and political humour cartoons like ‘So Sorry’ via Video On Demand. The app also consists of the Quicky feature, same as the one present in its Comedy One app, that lets people select a time-duration and then be delivered content that can be consumed in that duration.
