Zee Entertainment’s ad revenues grew 29.1% to Rs 864.5 crore in Q4 FY16

Zee Entertainment's advertising revenue grew 29.1% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 864.5 crore in the quarter ended March 2016 (Q4 FY16). On a sequential basis, ad revenues decreased 8.21%. As a percentage of the total revenue mix, the ad revenues represented 56.44% compared to 59% in the previous quarter. Subscription revenues stood at Rs 594.4 crore at the end of Q4 FY16 recording a growth of 16.4% over Q4 FY15. During the quarter, domestic subscription grew 12.1% YoY to Rs 468.2 crore while international subscription revenues grew 35.3% YoY to Rs 126.2 crore. Subscription revenues formed 38.8% of the total revenues. Other sales revenue declined 56.4% YoY to Rs 72.7 crore. It also declined 44.67% sequentially from Rs 131.4 crore. Other sales and services includes syndication sales, film distribution, commission on sales, play out & transmission services, facility usage income.Other sales and services revenue's share in total revenue pie and stood at 4.74%. Digital developments During the quarter, Zee Entertainment launched video on demand (VoD) platform called OZEE. "We understand that Digital will be a key part of our growth in the future and hence we are geared for expansion on that front as well," the company said in its statement. At the time of its launch, OZEE lists over 350 movies, most of them old Hindi and regional movies; various videos including trailers, recipes, award shows etc.; and TV shows which are aired on Zee.  The company had mentioned that it will make TV shows available on the platform ‘within minutes’ of airing on TV.
