Google’s AMP service extended on news articles

Google’s Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP), which speeds up mobile web load time by integrating a piece of Google’s code into publishers’ websites has extended its AMP project to more devices and platforms, and on Google News, the company said in a blog post. Google will now extend AMP service in Google News across desktop, Android and iOS devices. When a user opens Google News through the Google app or desktop site, it will load up to 14 headlines in a carousel format; users can swipe to continue browsing through headlines. Clicking on any article will take the user to an AMP-powered page.

nexGTv partners with Reliance Broadcast Network

Video streaming platform nexGTv has partnered with Reliance Broadcast Network to acquire the digital rights of Relaince-owned TV channels BIG Magic and BIG Magic Ganga. These channels will be available for viewing through nexGTv’s platform in 140 countries, except in North America, through its paid packages. Last month, NexGTv expanded its video streaming platform globally across 140 countries. It claims to have over 1,000 Indian movie and TV show titles, as well as 150 TV channels platform.

Quikr adds own fleet of delivery trucks to strengthen logistics

Online classifieds provider Quikr has added an undisclosed number of delivery trucks to help strengthen its home delivery service, Quikr Doorstep, reports Livemint. The new fleet will work in parallel with the company’s external logistics partners. With this, Quikr will be able to make their own goods pick-up, and deliveries. In March, Quikr launched Quikr Doorstep, a service that lets sellers counter offers made by buyers for a used product.

Zerch app expands in Pune and Hyderabad

Mahindra Comviva owned deals and product discovery app Zerch has expanded its operations in two new cities: Pune and Hyderabad. The app was launched in November last year for Android and iOS users initially in Bangalore and Delhi-NCR. Zerch offers deals from nearby merchants in food and beverages, spas, salons and apparel, accessories, books, gifts and electronics among other categories. It currently to have over 350,000 unique users and 6000 merchants on its platform. It has tied up with popular brands such as PVR Cinemas, Monginis, Berco’s Restaurants, Cafe Coffee day, Nizam’s, Gola Sizzlers, among others.

IRCTC ties up with Simpli5d Technologies to upgrade Capthca tool

Online train booking site IRCTC has partnered with Simpli5d Technologies, a digital advertising company to enhance its security and expand its advertising operations. Currently IRCTC uses a generic Captcha, tool used to differentiate between humans and other malicious programs. The partnership with Simpli5d, will help IRCTC to upgrade it to an image based NLPCaptcha tool offered by Simpli5d Technologies. The NLPCaptcha tool also embeds ads into its verification window or box, which comes from brand’s who have tied up with Simpli5d.

Blackberry rolls out Android M on PRIV

Mobile device maker BlackBerry has released Android 6.0 Marshmallow (Android M) Operating System (OS) on PRIV—BlackBerry’s flagship Android smartphone. Existing PRIV users will be able to upgrade to Android M by downloading the software update on their device. While, PRIV with Android M is also available for purchase through the company’s online website, as well as on other ecommerce platforms. Blackberry has also added some custom updates through the Android M roll out, including enhancements to the BlackBerry keyboard, BlackBerry Hub, BlackBerry launcher and camera app
