Payment solutions provider Oxigen Services has appointed former Bharti Airtel executive Saleem Mobhani as its new Chief Operating Officer. Mobhani will oversee daily operations at Oxigen; he will also be responsible for strengthening the market position of Oxigen Wallet. Mobhani has about 20 years of experience in industries including Media, Entertainment, and Telecom. Prior to Oxigen, he held the role of VP, Global Partnerships at Saudi Telecom. He has also held various executive and advisory roles at Vserv; VP, Digital, Media and Entertainment at du; Senior VP and Head of mEntertainemnt at Bharti Airtel; VP and COO at Hungama Mobile; and Director at indiaFM. Oxigen claims to have processed over 2 billion transactions until February, along with a transaction volume rate of 600 million per year. The company claims to have more than 20 million registered wallet users. Big Bazaar partnership: Earlier In February, Big Bazaar Direct, the ecommerce arm of retail provider big Bazaar, tied up with Oxigen to let its retailers sell goods from Big Bazaar Direct through Oxigen’s platform at physical stores. Oxigen’s retailers will not need to invest in stock or have space for products, since they’ll be delivered by Big Bazaar Direct to users’ homes or retail points. Users of Oxigen can buy online and pay by cash over the counter for the orders.
