IoT solutions provider Aeris has appointed Dr Rishi Bhatnagar as president of operations of the Indian market, reports ET. He will be responsible for business growth, manage Aeris’ invstments, governance and stakeholder relationships in India. Dr Bhatnagar will also oversee Africa, Asia Pacific and Middle East operations. Marc Jones, Chairman and CEO, Aeris said, “Our business is expanding rapidly in all geographies, and we believe that India is on the cusp of explosive growth. Dr Bhatnagar’s experience and leadership will help to accelerate our momentum and strengthen relationships with our key stakeholders in India.”
Prior to Aeris, Bhatnagar worked with Tech Mahindra for over 5.5 years in various positions under digital enterprise, delivery and global engagements, before which he was with Perot Systems as a director for over 8 years.
Online furniture rental company Furlenco has appointed Ashwin Venkatraman as its new Chief Operating Officer, where he will look after expanding the company’s business operations. He will also be responsible for building the technology, growth and revenue and customer experience teams. Venkatraman joined Furlenco a year ago as the VP of products and technology. Prior to Furlenco, he headed publisher products and OEM solutions at InMobi and was director of mobile payments for about 4.5 years. He has also worked with Google and Infosys for 4 years and 2 years respectively, before which he had his own startup.
Chernin Asia Media Digital has appointed Vivek Jain as its CEO, reports VCCircle. Jain will be looking after building CA Media’s digital assets like Fluence and Wakau and expand the digital portfolio. Jain was the VP of products at Jio’s digital media for 2 years, before which he worked as the product and business head at Amazon for the same time. He has also worked with SMC Networks, Motorola Mobility, US Department of Commerce, Ashley Laurent and Illinois Institute of Technology in multiple positions for over 10.5 years.
NDTV has appointed Sumeet Singh to head its yet unlaunched online marketplace for health foods Smartcooky, reports VCCircle. Singh will look after the marketplace health foods and personal care products in the company. Prior to joining Smartcooky, Singh was the founder and venture director of Rocket Internet AG for about 2 years, founder and CEO of Daraz BD for over 1.5 years and a management consultant with Bain & Company for over 3 years. He also had stints with Star India, Lamfa and Infosys.
Last month, Smartcooky raised an undisclosed amount of funds from Vandana Luthra, founder, VLCC, Rajan Anandan, vice president & MD of Google, Southeast Asia & India and other investors, at a valuation of $12 million.
