SayFix secures $160,000 in Angel Funding

Bangalore-based SayFix, a service-commerce organisation in the home services segment, has raised $160,000 (~Rs.1.1 crore) in an angel round led by a group of serial investors and entrepreneurs. The funds raised will be used to develop and enhance technology infrastructure and invest in marketing activities. The company aims to serve 100,000 customers across 5 metro cities within a year. Founded by Nabin Roy in in June 2015, SayFix offers services ranging from maintenance and home repairs to plumbing, electrical services, home cleaning and car care.

Aarav Unmanned Systems raises funding

Drone-tech startup Aarav Unmanned Systems has raised an undisclosed amount funding led by StartupXseed Ventures, 3ONE4 Capital, The Phoenix Fund and HNIs including, Ashok Atluri and Sanjay Jesrani, reports Iamwire. The startup was founded in 2013 by Nikhil Upadhye, Suhas Banshiwala, Vipul Singh and Yeshwanth Reddy. The fresh funds will be used for product development and team expansion. Aarav offers offers 3D mapping solutions to real estate and urban planning sector; NDVI-based solutions to agriculture sector and live & thermal aerial inspection to the power sector.

Edu-tech startup Carveniche secures angel funding

Bangalore-based education-tech startup Carveniche has raised an undisclosed amount of angel funding from Calcutta Angels, Lead Angels and a bunch of undisclosed high net worth individuals (HNIs), reports TechCircle. Carveniche was founded in 2010 by Avneet Makkar and Saraswathy A. The startup uses machine learning, artificial intelligence, big data and analytics for processes in learning. The new funds will be used for product development, scaling up operations, marketing and for strengthening its B2C operations.

Noida-based Pocketin raises $150,000 in seed funding

Restaurant deals startup Pocketin has raised $150,000 in seed funding from Hong Kong-based Swastika, reports VCcircle. Noida-based Pocketin was founded in September 2015 by Kshitij Mehra, Rahul Arora, Anirudh Mondal, Siddharth Sharma and Akshay Utreja. The company is planning to use the new capital to expand operations across Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurgaon, as well as to build the core team, and strengthen its product technology. It also has plans to expand operations to Mumbai, Bangalore and Dubai in the future. The company claims to have seated more than 6,500 diners until now.

Crayon Data secures undisclosed investment from Mitsui

Big Data startup Crayon Data, which is based in Singapore and also has offices in Chennai, has raised an undisclosed investment from Japanese conglomerate Mitsui, reports TechCircle. The company was founded in 2012 by Srikant Sastri and Suresh Shankar. It builds big data software products for banking, hospitality and FMCG industries. Crayon Data also received funding from Ratan Tata in November 2015. The recent investment includes a business service agreement by which Mitsui will support the launch of Crayon’s products in Japan, and the expansion of its customer assets, the company added in the report.

AppilyEver raises $400,000 in angel funding

Hyderabad-based integrated wedding services provider AppilyEver.com has raised $400,000 (~Rs 2.75 crore) in angel funding led by Varun Aggarwal, and other angel investors, reports TechCircle. AppilyEver was co-founded in October 2015 by Rakesh Gupta and Sumit Handa. The company is planning to use the fresh funds to upgrade technology, and ramp-up its product and marketing.
