Social networking site Facebook now has more than 142 million Monthly Active Users (MAUs) users in India, out of which at least 133 million MAUs were accessing the site through mobile phones, the company informed MediaNama. Mint reported this initially. A total of 69 million users in India use Facebook daily, while 64 million of them access the website through a mobile device. As of Q1 2015, the Facebook’s Indian user base stood at 125 million active users (MAUs), out of which 114 million were mobile MAUs. In the same period, Facebook India had 59 million daily active users (DAUs), out of which 53 million DAUs come through mobile, accounting for over 89.8% of Facebook’s daily traffic as of March 2015. Global MAUs: By the fourth quarter of 2015 (Q4 FY2015), Facebook reported 1.59 billion MAUs worldwide. It crossed the 1 billion mark in the third quarter of 2012 (Q3 FY2012), taking lead position among the top social media platforms, in terms of MAUs. The second position is closely taken up by the Facebook-owned messaging service WhatsApp, with over 900 million users globally. Facebook at Work: The enterprise version of Facebook dubbed as ‘Facebok at Work’, which allows businesses to build their own secure social network, added over 60,000 companies on the waiting list.
