OLX India elevates Irwin Anand to COO; hires Suresh Krishnan as CFO

OLX India has elevated Irwin Anand, its chief growth officer to COO and appointed Suresh Krishnan as the new CFO, reports ET. It has also appointed Joyeeta Chatterjee as the chief HR officer. Anand, who was the growth officer for over a year, will now be responsible for product growth user retention and mobile monetisation.

Prior to this role, Anand has also worked with OLX as the director of mobile for around 3.5 years, chief business development manager for around 3 years at Yahoo!, a senior manager at Aricent for 4 years and with Accenture and Lucent Technologies. Krishnan will lead all financial and growth initiatives for OLX India. Before joining OLX, he worked as the executive director and VP of finance at Accor Hotels and as CFO of GE Capital India.

Chatterjee worked as the HR director at Sun Pharma for about 4 years, before which she worked as the VP of HR at Jubilant Life Sciences for 3.5 years, director of HR at Nortel Networks for over 2 years and in various HR capacities at Bharti Airtel, Ranbaxy Labs, Xansa, Business Standard and Blue Dart Express.

Other developments at OLX:

– Last month, the company said that it would be launching a property listing portal in Indonesia this month, on its 10 year anniversary in the country, as indicated by this e27 report.

– In September, the Naspers owned company said that 80% of its monthly active users on OLX on mobile were from in India. According  Naspers’ annual report, OLX had 240 million monthly active users in over 40 countries across the world. Globally about 54% of OLX’s traffic came from mobile. The company also claimed 17 billion page views globally. Quikr, its main competitor in India, claimed to have 30 million monthly active users as indicated by a report by NDTV Gadgets.
