Industry moves: Lookup, Mosambee, Woo, Jungle Ventures & more

Narayan Babu

Bangalore-based Lookup has appointed Narayan Babu as its CTO where he will be responsible for technology and innovation at the company, along with enhancing the user experience. Babu previously founded Dexetra along with 5 others, which was acquired by Quixey. In October, the company raised $2.5 million in funding led by Khosla Impact and participation from Catamaran Ventures, Global Founder Capital and Twitter co-founder Biz Stone.

Mosambee, which provides an mPOS solution, has appointed Ashish Agrawal, CTO of Micromax as an independent member of the board, reports VCCircle. Agrawal will provide Mosambee with advise on scaling nationally and internationally, and aid in third party validations. In March last year, Mosambee raised an undisclosed amount in a Series B round of funding from existing investors SIDBI Venture Capital and Rajasthan Venture Capital Fund.

Subbu Subramaniam

Innoviti Payment Solutions has appointed S Subramaniam, CFO of Titan Company, on its board, reports VCCircle. Subramaniam will be a nominee of Titan, which according to the report, holds a 5% stake in the company (as of 2006). He will guide the company’s leadership for finance and operations.

Sanem Erucar

Dating app Woo has appointed Sanem Erucar and Ritesh Bhatnagar to lead the company’s product and marketing divisions respectively, reports VCCircle. Both will work on new initiatives for domestic and international growth. Prior to joining Woo, Erucar worked with Tykoon, IAC, McKinsey & Co and Thomson Reuters among others, whereas Bhatnagar has worked with Aircel, United Spirits and TBWA among others.

Apple India’s country manager Maneesh Dhir has quit the company, reports ET. India enterprise head Sharad Mehrotra also quit the company earlier this month to start a company called Hyve Mobility. (Not to be confused with Sharad Mehrotra, CEO at Telenor)

Rajiv Mehta

Fashion discovery app Wooplr has got on board Rajiv Mehta, CEO of Arvind Sports and Fashion as a senior advisor and Rajesh Kamra, co-founder of Koovs, as the head of Wooplr’s social commerce. Both Mehta and Kamra will assist Wooplr with building the company and fashion commerce respectively.

menka sajnani

VC firm Jungle Ventures has appointed Vaishali Cooper as CFO, Menka Sajnani as director of corporate development and James Lin as head of finance. Cooper previously worked at Komli Media (whose India business was recently bought by SVG Media), PubMatic and eBay among others, and will be responsible for the financial, accounting, tax and compliance functions. She will also oversee performance of investee companies and provide operations support.

At Jungle Ventures, Sajnani will build corporate, strategic and investor relations for the VC company as long as its portfolio companies. She worked at Google, HQ Capital and Mergermarket Group. Lin has previously worked at eBay and will be in charge of portfolio financial and LP reporting  along with operating support for portfolio companies.
