IDG Ventures India has appointed Sanat Rao as a venture partner, reports VCCircle. Working from Bangalore, Rao will work with IDG’s portfolio companies with respect to business development, investments and mergers & acquisitions, and evaluate new opportunities. Rao has previously worked as a visiting lecturer at Stanford Graduate School of Business, Microsoft Ventures, LetsVenture, Helion Ventures and Intel and continues to work as a partner of corporate development and mergers & acquisitions at iSPIRT. Most recently, he invested in Snapshopr, an image search platform. *** Ronnie Screwvala’s online education startup UpGrad has appointed Anshul Khandelwal as marketing head, reports VCCircle. Khandelwal will report to MD Mayank Kumar and look after the branding and positioning of the company. He previously worked as the VP of marketing at BlueStone for over 4 years. He’s also worked with 3M India, Chakpak Media, Sun Microsystems and GlobalLogic in various capacities. UpGrad was founded by Screwvala, Kumar, Ravijot Chugh and Prabhav Phalgun in March 2015. *** Balu Nayar, founder of Morpheus Capital, has quit his post as MD to join NextGen Telesolutions as co-founder, reports VCCircle.
