Turtlemint raises undisclosed amount in funding from Nexus & Blume Ventures

Mumbai-based Turtlemint.com, a personalized insurance platform, has raised a new round of investment led by Nexus Venture Partners, along with participation from Blume Ventures, reports Iamwire. Turtlemint plans to use the fresh funds to further scale up its technology and operations. The company offers different types of policies from over 15 insurers for Car, Two-wheeler, and Health insurance categories. The company was established in 2014 by Dhirendra Mahyavanshi and Anand Prabhudesai—both of whom were a part of Quikr’s management team previously.

MagicCrate secures seed funding from Mohandas Pai & others

Magic Crate, a Bangalore-based startup that aids learning in children, has raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding, led by TV Mohandas Pai and Aarin Capital, reports TechCircle. Narayanan Ramaswamy, head of education practice at KPMG, and Sethuraman Sivaramakrishnan, also participated in this round. The startup was founded in 2014 by Viswanathan R, and Karthik Lakshman and offers learning kits for children in primary school, with subscription plans starting at Rs 499 a month. The fresh funds will be used in expanding the product portfolio and ramping-up their team-base, and manufacturing unit.

BHIVE raises angel funding from TFS founder Raghunandan and others

Bangalore-based BHIVE, which offers workspace solutions for entrepreneurs, start-ups, and businesses, has raised angel funding from TaxiForSure founder Raghunandan G, Rajesh Rai, Arihant Patni, Sanjay Mirchandani and Arun Narayan, reports Iamwire. The company was established in November 2014 by Shesh Paplikar, and Ravindra MK. BHIVE claims to have about 90 startups, covering 400 active members, and even provides work-spaces for individual freelancers.

Gingercrush secures $1 million in pre-series A

Merchandising and product customization platform Gingercrush raises $1 million in a Pre Series A, led by Saha Fund, reports NextBigWhat. Zia Mody, Mumbai Angels, Ananda Kallugadde of NeoAngels, Rakesh Desai & Rakesh Malhotra of SAR Group also participated in the round. The Vadodara-based startup was founded by Rajvi Makol and Saumya Nidhi. Gingercrush allows consumers to shop or customize products to fit their personal style.

Dawailelo raises $52,000 in angel funding

Healthcare startup Dawailelo which helps people connect with medical stores, doctors, pathology labs through its platform has raised around $52,000 in seed funding from angel investors include Madhu Gopinath and Naveen Nischal, reports TechCircle. The Varanasi-based company was founded by Aditya Agrawal, and Arpit Sarin in 2013; it recently began expanding to other cities including Panipat. Dawailelo will focus on tier 2 and 3 cities where it says there is the acute need of genuine, affordable and accessible healthcare services.

LiveNutriFit secures undisclosed amount in seed funding

Delhi-based LiveNutriFit , an online healthcare startup that provides weight loss-related coaching raises an undisclosed amount in seed funding from Omaxe CEO Mohit Goel, Magppie Retail MD Vinod Jain, and a bunch of angel investors (Sandeep Sangwan, Anuj Pandey ), reports TechCircle. The company was founded in June 2015 by Gaurav Jalote and Dr. Anjali Hooda Sangwan. The fresh funds will be used for marketing, brand building and customer acquisition, the company said in a statement.
