Airtel, Idea & Vodafone make up 66% of total active mobile connections in India – December 2015

The top three telecom operators in India – Vodafone, Airtel and Idea Cellular – added 14.29 million active connections in December 2015, accounting for 66% of active connections, and 290% of total active added connections.

Their growth is outpacing the rest, as, together, they accounted for more active connections during the month (66%) than all the telecom operators combined, while some of the rest lost connections.

Reliance Communications (RCOM) lost 12.71 million active connections during the month. The operator still forms a significant part of the top four telecom operators, which together account for 76% of India’s active mobile connection base.
