Mobile VOD company Vuclip has appointed Vishal Maheshwari as the country manager for India. Maheshwari will be responsible for consumer adoption, engagement and monetisation in India. As of now, Vuclip claims to have a free user base of 20 million and a paying subscriber base of over 5 million in India. Prior to joining Vuclip, Maheshwari worked as the CEO of Universal Training Solutions for about 2 years, before which he was a founding partners and continues to be one at Serendipity Investments. He worked as the senior director and head of monetisation at Yahoo for about 2 years before quitting in August 2013. Maheshwari had been with Yahoo India for over 8 years, joining initially as Director (Mobile) in January 2005 from BPL Mobile (now Loop Mobile). In 2008, he was made Senior Director for Mobile and Business Development for India and APAC. Before Loop Mobile, Maheshwari worked with GE SBI Cards as the AVP of brands, a product manager at Parke Davis Warner Lambert for about 5 years and in the same position at Parle for about 4 years. Other developments: - In August last year, Vuclip entered into a partnership with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), to offer WWE clips in India, Middle East, Africa and South East Asia.
