Girnar Software appoints former Zomato exec Umesh Hora as its CFO

Girnar Software, the Internet company that operates CarDekho, BikeDekho and PriceDekho, has appointed Umesh Hora as it chief financial officer (CFO). Hora had previously worked with restaurant discovery and food ordering startup Zomato as its CFO. In his new role, Hora will be responsible for developing Girnar Software's financial and legal infrastructure to help in its expansion plans. He will also be part of the company’s senior management team and be responsible for the company’s financial strategy and planning. Prior to Zomato, Hora also worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers as an Associate, and with Analec Infotech, WNS Global Services and Datamonitor India in various positions. Appointment of Shobit Mathur as director of strategy  Earlier this month, Girnar Software also appointed Shobit Mathur as director of strategy. Mathur will lead strategic initiatives across verticals and incubate new businesses in his role at the company. Mathur had previously worked as associate director at global consultancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers. He had also worked in Ernst & Young. Funding Girnar Software raised $15 million in Series A funding from Sequoia Capital in November 2013. As part of the deal, Sequoia Capital India Principal Shailesh Lakhani joined the company board.
