Shemaroo’s new media biz accounts for 16.90% of total revenues in Q2FY16

Bollywood content aggregation company Shemaroo has reported new media revenues of Rs 15.8 crores for the quarter ended September 30. This is an increase of 82.4% year-on-year from Rs 8.66 crore form the same quarter last year. New media revenues grew 17.91% from Rs 13.4 crore from the preceding quarter. Shemaroo's new media business represents 16.90% of the company's total operational income which stood at Rs 93.45 crore. In the previous quarter, new media revenues were 17.26% of the the total revenues. It seems that the the new media business is driving growth in the company. Its traditional media business grew a mere 1.8% to Rs 77.65 crore from Rs 76.29 crore in the same period last year. On a sequential basis, traditional media grew 20.89% from Rs 64.23 crore. Financials ‐ Total Income increased by 10.5% to Rs 94.20 crore from Rs 85.22 crore in Q2 FY2015 ‐ EBITDA increased by 14.4% to Rs 24.25 crore from Rs 21.19 crore in Q2 FY2015 ‐ EBITDA Margin stood at 25.7% in Q2 FY2016. ‐ Net Profit after tax increased by 30.6% to Rs 11.20 crore from Rs 8.57 crore in Q2 FY2015. New Media New Media revenues increased 82.4% year on year and 17.91% quarter-on-quarter, while revenue from traditional sources increased 1.8% year on year, and increased 20.89% quarter-on-quarter. The company also mentioned that it renewed its existing deal with music streaming service Saavn during the quarter.
