Housing appoints Nandini Mehta as general counsel
Real estate portal Housing.com has appointed Nandini Mehta as General Counsel, where she’ll be responsible for defining the company’s legal framework. Mehta worked as a partner at J Sagar Associates for 2.5 years, a partner at Vidhii Partners for 2.5 years and as associate vice president of Legal at UTV Motion Pictures Mauritius for over 3 years. She has also worked as a consultant of the entertainment business at Reliance BIG Motion Pictures for less than a year, as the legal head of Percept Picture Company for over 2 years and as an associate at Naik, Naik & Co and Paras Kuhad & Co for 2 years.
Earlier this month, the company appointed Mani Rangarajan as its chief financial officer. In his new role Rangarajan will be responsible for financial strategy and planning. Housing also appointed Keerthi Kiran as the vice president of its new real estate projects division. Kiran was with Housing for nearly 2 years before being promoted to this role. Note that in August, Housing laid off over 160 employees citing that it needed to focus on its core products.
Hike appoints Gautam Vohra as general counsel and Hemant Goyal as VP of finance
Instant messaging app Hike has appointed Gautam Vohra as general counsel and Hemant Goyal as VP of finance, reports ET. Vohra will focus on building legal, compliance and policy functions. Previously, Vohra worked as the company secretary and principal legal counsel at Amazon India for 3 years, before which he was the senior legal counsel at Nokia for over 6 years. Vohra has also worked as the legal manager at Wipro Technologies for 2.5 years and as legal manager at Bennett Coleman & Co for over 2 years.
In August, Hike appointed Vidur Vyas as VP of marketing and Sumit Mehra as studio head. Vyas would be responsible for Hike’s marketing initiatives, brand positioning and alliances; whereas Mehra would be responsible for game strategy, development and production. Both Vyas and Mehra will report to Hike’s CEO and founder Kavin Mittal. In May, Hike hired Vikrant Bhatnagar as head of human resources, where he would be responsible for people strategy, development and growth within the organization.
Lotame appoints Gaurav Seth as country manager-India
Lotame, an independent data management platform, has appointed Gaurav Seth as country manager for India. Seth will be responsible for the Indian market, and integrate digital platforms for Lotame’s clients. Lotame says that it has seen a 40% increase in business growth across the Asia Pacific region.
Seth has previously worked with Vserv.mobi as its business and product lead for the audience platform for over 1.5 years, as director of business alliances and product at SVG Media for over a year and as senior manager of audience targeting at Komli Media for over 2 years. He has also worked as a technology reviewer at CNBC TV18 for over 2 years and in the same position at CHIP Infomedia for 3 years.
LetsVenture lists Ratan Tata and Mohandas Pai as advisors
LetsVenture has brought Ratan Tata and Mohandas Pai on its list of advisors. Tata and Pai have also made an undisclosed amount of personal investment in the company. Earlier this month, LetsVenture raised an undisclosed amount in its Series A round of funding led by Accel Partners and Anupam Mittal, with participation from Nandan Nilekani, Rishad Premji, Kunal Bahl, Rohit Bansal, Girish Mathrubootham, Amit Ranjan and Singapore Angels among others. The company said that it would use the funds to scale up, bring on board new investors and expand its employee base from the current 22 to 40 by the end of the year. It had earlier raised a seed fund worth Rs 4 crore from various investors in May last year.
