Hugefly raises angel funding
Hugefly, a startup which deals with proprietary search, personalisation and recommendation for ecommerce companies, has raised an undisclosed amount of angel funding from Mayank Singhal, Mohit Gulati and Raj Iyer. The company, which was started by Dhruv Chaudhari and Amit Chaudhari in January, will use the funding for hiring, technology and operations. Hugefly offers ecommerce companies a platform to reduce search time, offer search results and create targeted customised recommendations on a real time basis. It also offers image search integration, autocomplete, spell check and analytics.
Brigge raises seed funding from The Chennai Angels
Brigge, a social network for activities, has raised an undisclosed seed funding from The Chennai Angels, reports VCCircle. Brigge lets users network on the basis of activities and claims to have organised neighbourhood runs, meetings on terrace gardenings and joined cycling and photography expeditions among other activities. It was started by Prasanna Jagannathan, Sampath Jagannathan and Murali Satagopan earlier this year.
Infoworks raises $5 million from multiple investors
Infoworks, a big data management startup, has raised $5 million in Series A funding from Nexus Venture Partners, Knoll Ventures and other undisclosed investors, reports VCCircle. It will use the funds for management hiring. Naren Gupta of Nexus Venture Partners has joined the Infoworks board. The company was founded by Amar Arsikere and Buno Pati last year, and offers a solution to discover, organise and manage data on Hadoop.
Loancircle raises angel funding
Loancircle, an online lending marketplace, has raised an undisclosed amount of angel funding from Zishaan Hayath, Rahul Khanna, Amit Rathore, Amit Arora, Anuj Bhargava and Mayank Kumar, reports VCCircle. It will use the funding for expansion in technology, operations and risk management hiring. Loancircle uses data like education, employment, transactions and salary among others to increase predictability while availing unsecured loans, to provide better rates. The company was founded by Tanuj Mendiratta in August, while his previous startup Appiterate was acquired by Flipkart in April this year.
Zakoopi raises $350,000 from Uniqorn Ventures
Zakoopi, a website which lists local clothing retailers in Delhi and Mumbai, has raised $350,000 in seed funding from Uniqorn Ventures, to expand and invest in product and technology hiring, reports VCCircle. The company, which was founded by Samik Sarkar and Shashank Agnihotri, also plans to expand to Kolkata and other cities soon. It claims to have over 7,000 fashion retail stores across 100 markets in Delhi-NCR and Mumbai, with 100,000 monthly users, growing at 10% week on week.
