The Indian Express has appointed Sheela Bhatt as the national editor of politics, reports Bestmediainfo. Bhatt comes to Indian Express from Rediff, where she worked as the editorial director. But this appointment woll be her second with IE, handling their daily special investigation team in the past. Bhatt has over 30 years of experience across print, television and the internet media. She has previously worked with Star and India Today. Bhatt worked as a senior editor at India Today’s Gujarati edition, while being closely associated with its launch. At Star News, she worked as an executive editor, where she founded, edited and published the Gujarati weekly Abhiyaan. Bhatt has travelled with Priyanka Gandhi, while at Rediff, and covered political news across India throughout her stint. She also interviewed Dawood Ibrahim in 1994 when she was with India Today.
