3.67 Million Mobile Number Portability Requests In India In June 2015

Porting requests were submitted for 3.67 million connections in the month of June 2015, according to the Indian Telecom regulator TRAI. This is up 13.52% from 3.24 million porting requests reported in May 2015. India had a total mobile connection base of 980.80 million connections (881 million active) as of June 2015.

For the month of June, the maximum number of requests in Zone-I (North and West India) were received in Rajasthan at 0.24 million, followed by Maharashtra at 0.21 million and Gujarat at 0.20 million. Jammu & Kashmir which has one of the lowest user base, continues to receive the lowest number of porting requests at 1,315. Note that TRAI does not provide any operator-wise breakdown for these number porting requests.

MNP June 2015

In Zone-II (South and East India), Karnataka continues to lead with 0.67 million number porting requests till date, followed by Andhra Pradesh which received 0.33 million requests and Tamil Nadu which received 0.27 million requests. North East circle saw 8,744 number porting requests for the month, up from 7,811 requests in the previous month.
