Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC has announced that it will be rolling out full language support for Hindi, Tamil and Marathi for its HTC One and Desire smartphones series, including HTC One X, HTC One S, HTC One V, HTC Desire C and HTC Desire V. According to the company, users can now read and write in Hindi, Tamil and Marathi languages while using the phone's messaging app, browsing the Internet and accessing Android apps on the Google Play store. We are assuming that the language support is system-wide. Additionally, HTC also stated that users will be able to read Bengali on select applications available on Google Play Store from next month, although there is currently no information if these apps will be distributed by the company itself or it will be distributed by third party developers. Availability: HTC stated that this language support will be rolled out to the above mentioned smartphones sold in India, through an automatic software update over the air. The update is currently available to HTC Desire C and Desire V users and is expected to roll out to HTC One smartphone family including HTC One X, HTC One S and HTC One V from August 2012. Similar developments: In December 2011, HTC had added full language support for Hindi and Tamil to its entry level Android smartphone 'HTC Explorer' following which users could read and write content in Hindi and Tamil on any compatible Android app like the phone's messaging and the email app, as indicated by a Business Line report.…
