Online portal for personalized printing, Printvenue.com has appointed Bipin Narang as its chief executive officer for its Southeast Asia operations. Narang, an alumuns of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management studies, was previously the CMO at Vistaprint India and brings over 17 years of experience across E-commerce, Telecom, Retail, Media, Liquor & Advertising and has worked with organizations like Bharti Airtel, Videocon Mobiles, United Spirits. Bipin Narang will be directly reporting to Printvenue CEO Gagan Arora.
Gagan Arora was appointed CEO of Printvenue earlier in May and is responsible for the overall growth of the company, enhancing consumer experience and introducing new products.Earlier this year the company also raised $4.5 million funding from the Asia Pacific Internet Group. Printvenue has been expanding its international operations, and in September last year it had launched its operations in Australia. Earlier in 2013, it had started its operations in Singapore and the company mentioned that 15% of its total revenues comes from the Singapore market.
Clovia appoints new CEO and CTO
Lingerie e-tailer Clovia (formerly known as Cloe) has appointed Pankaj Vermani as its new CEO and Aditya Chaturvedi joins as its Chief Technology Officer. Clovia’s current CEO & Founder, Neha Kant will continue to sit on the company’s board and take on the role of Chief Revenue Officer. She will be responsible for driving the company’s sales and operations across channels and geographies, the company said.
In his role as CEO, Pankaj will overview the strategic direction, product innovation and expansion of Clovia. He will lead the company’s effort to grow in local and overseas markets. Aditya in his role will be responsible to strategically grow and manage the technology support systems and increases its head count. He will also oversee the delivery of customer experience on the Clovia website and other social platforms.
Clovia is backed by Ivy Cap Ventures, Zurich-based Mountain Partners AG and a group of private investors. Earlier in 2013 it raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding from Mountain Partners AG.
Data Security Council of India (DSCI) named Nandkumar Saravade its Chief Executive Officer, reports the Economic Times. A former IPS officer, Saravade was an advisor on fraud and security to global consultancy firm Ernst & Young (EY) and ICICI Bank. Before that, he was the South Asia head of security, investigation and vigilance at Citibank. He also was general manager for financial crime prevention at ICICI Bank for over three years and also served as the director of cyber security and compliance at NASSCOM.
Saravade will join as the full-time CEO and succeed industry veteran Kamlesh Bajaj, and taking over the interim charge from Nasscom vice president Rama Vedasree.
DSCI is an industry body for data protection in India, setup by Nasscom with an aim to establish best practices, standards and initiatives in cyber security and privacy.
Lenovo has appointed Rahul Agarwal as the managing director for Lenovo India, reports the Economic Times. He will be taking over from Amar Babu who has been promoted as the chief operating officer for the Asia Pacific region and chairman of Lenovo India. Agarwal previously worked as Executive Director: Commercial Business, Executive Director, Head, Global Marketing Communication and Chief Marketing Officer, India at Lenovo. Prior to Lenovo he worked in various leadership roles at IBM. He’s also had stints at IonIdea and ITW Signode India.
Earlier this month, Lenovo also announced that Liu Jun, Executive Vice President of Lenovo Mobile Business Group and Chairman of the Motorola Mobility management board, will become a special consultant to the CEO on mobile business and strategy for a certain period of time. The company also said that Chen Xudong will become the new leader of Mobile Business Group and also Chairman of Motorola Mobility.
