Online fitness services provider HealthifyMe has raised $6 million in a series A round of funding led by IDG Ventures India, Inventus Capital and Blume Ventures. The startup will use the funds for improving its technology and product, as well as hiring engineers and making strategic acquisitions. HealthifyMe had previously raised an undisclosed amount in its second round of funding from various angel investors in June last year, and had raised an undisclosed sum in its first round of funding from Micromax the month before. At the time, the company set up its global headquarters in Singapore, to help expand further internationally. The platform currently offers a single app (Android and iOS) that helps customers keep track of their diet and workout progress, and provides them with trainers to create exercise plans and custom diet plans. However, HealthifyMe itself does not provide a fitness tracker, and instead suggests the user to get a wearable such as the Rist or YUfit band. The company also claims to have the largest Indian food database and a calorie counter for regional and local foods, which lets users track calories consumed for all kinds of Indian foods. As of now, HealthifyMe offers 3 plans at Rs 799, Rs 999 and Rs 1299, which offer weight loss of upto 2kg, 3kg and 4kg per month respectively.
