Arkin Net raises $15 million from Nexus Venture Partners and others

Arkin Net, a company which provides enterprise data centre solutions, has raised $15 million in a Series B funding from existing investor Nexus Venture Partners and other strategic investors which included B.V. Jagadeesh, reports VCCircle. Arkin Net will use the funding to hire employees and scale its operations. Jishnu Bhattacharjee of Nexus Venture Partners will join the company’s board following the investment. In November last year, Arkin has raised $7 million from Nexus Venture Partners, BV Jagadeesh, Alan Cohen and Semil Shah of Haystack Fund. Arkin has also launched its platform and cloud service for software defined data centres (SDDC). It will enable its customers to analyse, share and collaborate operational data across virtual and physical infrastructure layers and can be deployed on premises or used as a service in Arkin’s cloud. The company, which is Pune and Silicon Valley based, develops software defined networking operations platform which helps enterprises manage their data centre operations. An SDDC is basically a data storage facility where storage, networking, CPU and security are virtualised as one service. Arkin’s platform ties the virtual and physical data centres to simplify operations and save time and costs, while ensuring security. It helps in visibility and recall of virtual information across networks, data centres and software silos. The company claims that the platform supports technologies like VMWare NSX, Cisco UCS, VCE Vblocks and Palo Alto Networks firewalls among others. Arkin Net was founded by Shiv Agarwal, Mukul Gupta, Rohit Toshniwal and Abhijit Sharma in 2013.
