Media buying agency GroupM has promoted Tushar Vyas as its chief strategy officer for South Asia. In his new role, Vyas will be responsible for developing future products and will have a core team of digital product specialists, data scientists and content experts. The company mentions it's currently working on several initiatives to build new products with a focus on categories like e commerce, that Vyas will be responsible for. Prior to this, Vyas had been heading GroupM Interaction, the digital media arm of GroupM, a unit he helped set up many years ago. He had earlier quit GroupM in 2007 to join Surewaves along with two other execs – Sanchit Sanga and Shashank Gawade.
