Mobile multi-channel messaging platform mGage has acquired the Bangalore-based cloud communications company Unicel Technologies for an undisclosed amount. Speaking to Medianama, mGage mentioned that it would integrate Unicel completely, including its employees and technology. Unicel provides various cloud based APIs and applications for communications including for two-way messaging, SMS, voice, email and USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data). It also provides various enterprise solutions for mobile banking, sales force automation, supply chain management, location based services, marketing solutions and IT network management etc., other than solutions like MessageOne, AlertOne and TrackOne for mobile network operators. Founded in 2003, Unicel currently claims to have a clientele of over 500 enterprises including Tata, EMC2, Unilever, OBC, Tata Sky, Flipkart, Mantri, Apollo Hospitals and State Bank of India. Post acquisition Unicel will continue to serve its client’s under the mGage banner. mGage also offers similar services with platforms for SMS, email and voice. It offers text solutions like voting, mobile coupons and alerts, OTT capabilities for brands, push notifications on iOS and Android, social sharing on Facebook, Twitter etc. and voice products with both inbound and outbound services. The platform also provides analytics for tracking and retargeting, providing location based services and mobile identity data. mGage was launched last year in April by GSO Capital Partners, which had acquired Velti’s mobile marketing business in India, US and UK in January the same year.
