Bollywood content aggregator Shemaroo has entered into a distribution agreement with Magna Publishing Company to distribute its content over digital channels and mobile channels. Magna Publishing Company produces magazines such as Stardust, Savvy, Society and Health & Nutrition. As part of the deal Shemaroo will convert the text gossips from Stardust magazine in audio and video formats and distribute over YouTube and Mobile. Shemaroo will also bring out videos, snippets, stories, gossip on mobile WAP and IVR platforms. The interesting part of this deal is that Shemaroo is looking at the IVR platforms to distribute content and we're reminded when Airtel launched Comedy FM, a dial-in radio service for its mobile customers which offered jokes, fillers, standup comedy acts way back in 2012. Star Plus had also started a dedicated audio IVR portal, Star Plus on Mobile, offering audio summaries of its popular shows, in addition to related content such as audio blogs from protagonists, theme music and other related content. Other content deals - In January, Shemaroo tied up with mobile video platform 1230n to offer content on their mobile application. As per the partnership, Shemaroo will be offering its video catalogue of Bollywood songs, devotional content and regional videos for download on 123on’s mobile app. - In the same month, the company also entered into an agreement with net mobile AG to distribute content from Playboy Enterprises Inc in south Asian countries which include India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
