Snapdeal has appointed Vivek Patankar as senior VP of Finance, reports VCCircle. Patankar has 12 years of experience in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), corporate strategy, business partnering and supply chains. He has previously worked with Unilever as senior finance manager of FP&A, chief finance officer at Lakme Lever, finance manager of FP&A at Hindustan Unilever, finance manager at Marico and GE.

Last week, Snapdeal appointed Dharmarajan K as the head of customer experience. He will be a part of the online marketplace’s leadership team and be responsible for furthering customer service operations. Less than two weeks ago, Snapdeal’s chief financial officer Aakash Moondhra quit the company, the second top-level exit from the Delhi-based e-commerce portal in the last two months. Snapdeal also roped in former Yahoo India R&D Division and Amazon India executive Jeyandran Venugopal in February this year.

Online classifieds portal Quikr has appointed Manish Sinha as Head of Quikr Homes, reports afaqs. Sinha will be incharge of growing the company’s consumer real estate business in India and lead strategy and growth plans for other real estate categories. Sinha has over 15 years of experience and he previously co-founded Favista Real Estate and Rovolt Entertainment, a company which built apps and games for children. Before that he worked at WNS Global Services where he led corporate strategy to drive growth, enable scale and operations. He also served as senior director at Capital One Financial, director of marketing at Intiqua International, founder and marketing director of has2be, Infosys and McKinsey & Company. He has a BTech in chemical engineering from IIT Delhi and an MBA in marketing and strategy from IIM Calcutta.

Networking and communications company UTStarcom has appointed Vikas Giridhar as General Manager, Sales to head its North India business development and sales for WiFi, SDN and optical businesses. He will be reporting to Rahul Pandey who is the Director of sales and marketing for UTStarcom India. The company is also looking to double its employee base in India by end of this year to strengthen their market presence and “achieve business targets”.

His specialities include channel management. Giridhar had previously worked as the Sales Lead for WiFi, SDN and Optical Business for APAC at Cisco, Senior Head of Business Development for Motorola South Asia and Product Marketing Enterprise Voice Solution Head at AVAYA Global Connect. He also worked with Wipro’s 3D Networks, Alcatel India and Godrej India.
