Vikram SakhujaGroupM’s Vikram Sakhuja joins Madison Media and OOH as CEO

GroupM strategic development officer Vikram Sakhuja has joined Madison Media and Madison OOH as its new chief executive officer, reports the Economic Times. Sakhuja will also own a “low single digit minority stake” in Madison Media and Madison OOH, which will go up over some years to low double-digit stake the report added. Sakhuja has over 28 years of experience in marketing, advertising and broadcast industries and has worked with Proctor & Gamble (P&G), Coca-Cola, Star TV and GroupM. He joined MindShare in 2002 and became CEO at GroupM South Asia in 2006. In 2013, he was promoted as the CEO of Maxus Worldwide and in 2014 he was named the global strategic development officer and was relocated to the UK.

Reliance Jio ropes in ex-Huawei exec to head marketing of devices bizAnand Narang

Reliance Jio has roped in Anand Narang, former Huawei India devices marketing head, to head the marketing division of the company, reports the Economic Times. Narang will report into former BlackBerry India chief Sunil Dutt who had joined as president of devices business at Reliance Jio mid-2014. It is also reported that Samsung’s vice-president of networks business, Jagbir Singh was also moving to Jio. Prior to his stint at Huawei India, Narang also worked as the global head for marketing activation, GTM operations at Nokia. Narang has experience at Nokia in various roles for over nine years and worked at Huawei for four years.

Walmart India appoints Pankaj More as chief technology officer

Walmart India has appointed Pankaj More as its new chief technology officer and he will be responsible for strengthening the company’s technology and IT infrastructure, reports IndianTelevision.com. He will report to Walmart India president and CEO Krish Iyer. More joined WalMart in January 2013 and has been leading the ISD strategy for the Walmart Asia market (China, Japan & India) by driving financial transparency, creating technology roadmap, leveraging cost and implementing project governance. He comes with over 19 years of experience in IT spanning telecom, financial services, energy and now the retail domain. He has experience in technology development, engineering & ERP platforms, driving IT strategy for business, leading operations and providing leadership to cross-functional, diverse & global teams.
