Skype updates iOS and Android apps for offline photos and picture-in-picture mode
Skype has updated its Android and iOS applications and now lets users to send pictures even if the recipients are offline and also has a new picture-in-picture mode which allows you keep a video call going even when you navigate away to other applications. Other updates include better call quality in low bandwidth scenarios and chats opening faster when opened from notifications, the company said on its blog. The video calling application had introduced the picture-in-picture mode feature on Android tablets first in December 2013. The Next Web also points out that that the iOS version of the app will once again support URI (uniform resource identifiers). That means that developers can create links within their apps that launch the Skype app and make a voice or video call.
Fashionara signs on six international fashion labels
Online fashion store Fashionara has signed on six new international labels to debut exclusively through their e-store. The new labels include Hesperus, Zeldam, Ironi, 15 Love, Swirlgear and Banju. Earlier in September 2014, Fashionara introduced a marketplace section called ‘F.lea Bazaar’ that will offer curated collection of offbeat and eclectic products from select small sellers and boutiques from across the country. With the launch, Fashionara had changed its business model from being an inventory-led model to a hybrid fashion marketplace.
Ozone media ties up with The Media Trust to fight ad malware
Advertising technology provider Ozone Media has tied up with The Media Trust to provide real-time malware protection via Ozone Media’s programmatic platform. The Media Trust’s service scans ad tags both pre-flight and in flight. With the former, the service conducts a thorough pre-scan of ads prior to a campaign launch, scanning any number of user-defined geographies with multiple browser, OS and device-type combinations. Once the ad placement is live, the service conducts continuous, 24/7scanning of the ad tags, detecting and alerting for the duration of the campaign. Earlier in December 2014, has tied up with fraud detection company Forensiq to help them validate the authenticity of a click through and impression and prevent ad fraud.
