Airtel’s music streaming service Wynk claims over 5 million downloads

Bharti Airtel's music streaming application Wynk said that it has crossed five million downloads since its launch in September. Wynk features full track audio streaming, unlimited cache downloads, Mp3 purchase and caller ring back tone. The latest app version also features support for Google Chromecast to be streamed on televisions. Wynk is currently ad-free but we've mentioned before that it may not be so in the future. Its terms and conditions clearly specify:  “ The Service or Airtel’s website may contain advertising content from Airtel or any other third party. Airtel does not take any responsibility of any such third party advertising materials, and will not be liable for any of your actions or purchases or losses that you may suffer in relation to or as a result of any such advertising.” Wynk says it has an HD catalogue of over 1.8 million Indian and International songs also has exclusive music previews from time-to-time under the Sony Music label. Wynk also presented some trends it noticed over the last six months. Some of them are: - Honey Singh is the top-searched artist followed by Akon and Lata Mangeshkar -The recent Bollywood movie Roy is the most streamed album till date - Expert curated playlists are more popular than the albums with about 33% more clicks - ‘Romantic’ mood is the most popular amongst all the mood based playlists - Mumbai topped charts as the city with the maximum users followed by Delhi and Karnataka - New Releases is the most popular section of the app and interestingly…
