iTV Network has appointed Dilip Venkatraman as the Group Chief Operating Officer, Strategy and Business Development. In his new role, Venkatraman will be responsible for planning strategic solutions and for business development for the network and will report directly to iTV Network MD Kartikeya Sharma.
Venkatraman was previously the CEO of Network18’s CNN-IBN and IBN7 and had quit the company after a eight year stint in August last year. Following this, he had co-founded a consumer focused digital company called Vigovea Media in October 2013. It’s worth noting Vigovea Media’s other co-founder Savvy Dilip had joined iTV network as group CMO in August last year.
Prior to Network18, Venkatraman was the CEO of Pugmarks for about an year and has also had stints at Dish TV, Zee News and India Today Group Online.
iTV Network is a news network which operates the Hindi news channel India News, the English news channel NewsX, which it had acquired in July 2012 and four regional news channels. It also has a Hindi newspaper called Aaj Samaj and a Sunday newspaper called The Sunday Guardian.
