Porting requests were submitted for 3.63 million connections in the month of November 2014, according to the Indian Telecom regulator TRAI. This is up 19.52% from 3.04 million porting requests reported in October 2014.

Note that India has a total mobile connection base of 937.05 million connections (824.42 million active) as of November 2014.

For the month of November, the maximum number of requests in Zone-I (North and West India) were received in Mumbai at 0.77 million, followed by Rajasthan at 0.23 million and Gujarat at 0.22 million. Jammu & Kashmir which has one of the lowest user base, continues to receive the lowest number of porting requests at 1107. Note that TRAI does not provide any operator-wise breakdown for these number porting requests.

In Zone-II (South and East India), Andhra Pradesh continues to lead with 0.35 million number porting requests till date, followed by Karnataka which received 0.34 million requests and Madhya Pradesh which received 0.25 million requests. North East circle saw 7,343 number porting requests for the month, up from 4,408 requests in the previous month.
