Yahoo India has released its annual ‘Year In Review’, which lists the biggest trends the company witnessed in 2014. According to Yahoo, the lists are based on its user’s daily search habits and what they read, recommend or share on its network. The trends: Most searched personalities of 2014 Continuing the trend from last year, the most searched personalities on Yahoo India were mostly from Bollywood, ahead of politicians and athletes. PM Narendra Modi was the most searched for politician, followed by Arvind Kejriwal, Rahul Gandhi, Jayalalithaa and Shashi Tharoor, while among sportspersons, Virat Kohli was the most searched for, followed by Michael Schumacher and Maria Sharapova. Sunny Leone continued to be the most searched for personality for the third year in a row followed by Poonam Pandey and Shweta Basu Prasad. Others on this list included Anushka Sharma, Alia Bhatt, Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai. Business luminaries of the year This list was topped by Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, followed by the Minister of State with Independent Charge for Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy Piyush Goyal, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Bill Gates and CEO and MD of Infosys Vishal Sikka. Others on this list included, Infosys co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Sahara chief Subrata Roy, Reliance head Mukesh Ambani and e-tailing major heads Sachin, Binny (Flipkart), Mukesh (Myntra), Peeyush (Lenskart) and Rohit (Snapdeal) Bansal, among others.
