Ather raises $1 million from Flipkart founders Ather, an Electric vehicle startup that focuses on designing two wheelers for the Indian market, had raised $1 million investment from Flipkart founders Sachin & Binny Bansal with participation from Medall CEO Raju Venkatraman. The startup plans to use the funds for product development. Founded by Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain in 2013, Ather is currently performing full vehicle design & testing and is in the process of bringing aboard manufacturing partners. The startup had previously raised its first round of funding In February this year from Aerospike founder Dr V Srinivas and the Indian government's Technology Development Board. Online party planning marketplace Gigstart raises over $200k Online party planning marketplace Gigstart has raised $210,000 in seed funding from Indian Dream Capital, Rajesh Sawhney’s GSF, Rohit Bansal & Kunal Bahl of Snapdeal, Narendra Singh Rawat of FG Wilson, TA Venture Holding Limited, Roshan Abbas and Airtel's Anand Chandrasekaran. Gigstart plans to use the funds on scaling up its product, marketing and expanding to new cities. The startup essentially offers a marketplace that connects anchors, stand up comics, singers, dancers, make up artists, photographers and other entertainers and party service providers with party planners. GigStart co-founder Atit Jain claims that they have been witnessed a 30% month on month growth since its launch in December last year. It was part of GSF's Global accelerator batch earlier this year.
