Tamil daily & news portal Dinamalar has launched a music website called Isai Live for streaming live concerts, reports exchange4media.com. The report mentions that some of the music content on the site will be paid content, and others like promotional content will be available for free. However, when we checked all the live concerts & previous concert recordings were accessible for free. Users can select live music performances they want to stream based on venues, artists or musical instruments. For each of these three parameters a list of upcoming concerts are listed out, which users can stream live on the site. They can also choose to stream only the audio from these concerts. Recordings of older concerts are also available. The site also presents an aggregated list of all live concerts for the current day & the next day that can be streamed through the site. Currently, only concerts in Chennai are covered. Competition: There are several music streaming services in India, including Times Internet's Gaana.com, Steadview Capital backed Saavn, Hungama.com, Airtel's music service Wynk, and Australian music streaming service Guvera that recently launched in India, among others. However, most of them are focused on Bollywood music, regional films songs, and international pop tracks, unlike Isai Live which is focused on Indian classical music.
