Delhi-based technology startup Certus Technologies has launched a PRO version of its digital parental control application eKAVACH. The app is currently compatible with Android versions 4.0 and above, with an iOS app in the works. eKavach basically has two apps, one installed on the child’s device and a parental control app installed on the parent’s device. Through the app, parents are able to set content filtering and safe search parameters, define the amount of time children can access the internet, keep tabs over gaming and other apps and receive emergency notifications from the child device. With this new update, the app introduces new features like monitoring child device location, age based web filtering and child SOS facility among others. Additionally, the app will now send parents SMS alerts if the child app has no internet connection and ‘urgent’ notifications are to be send. Children can also send SMS parents in case of emergencies with one click, which the parents receive with geo coordinates of the child. The new update also claims to have simplified Internet web categories into 30 main categories, which can be auto filtered based on the age of the child. Parents will also get notifications if a child attempts to violate these filters. Additionally, the app also lets set a ‘Family Time’ when all Internet and app access will be blocked. The new update will also integrate Flipkart and Mycityforkids web platforms into the app, for online shopping and to find children related events/activities around town.
