Web-based business productivity solutions provider Zoho has acquired a minority stake in Bangalore-based automation systems provider Zentron Labs for an undisclosed amount, reports Business Standard. Following this deal, Zoho founder & CEO Sridhar Vembu has joined Zentron Labs as a mentor.
Founded by Krishnan Ramabadran and Ramgopal Vallath in 2012, Zentron is currently working on products focused on automation of visual checking and quality checking. It currently works with companies in sectors like pharmaceuticals, FMCG, electronics, horticulture and automotive among others.
Zoho.in: Earlier this month, Zoho also launched the Zoho.in platform that offers small Indian business a suite of applications to take care of all business requirements. Businesses can register a free .in or .co.in domain and create a website using Zoho Sites. The platform also offers free email hosting for up to 25 users through Zoho Mail and document creation & management through Zoho Docs. The package also includes Zoho Mail, Zoho Docs, Zoho Writer & Taskz mobile apps for both iOS and Android.
Zoho investments: Vembu told BS that Zoho has already invested in a few more Indian startup companies, including one medical equipment company and one semiconductor firm, among others. He didn’t reveal the names as the companies are yet to release their products.
