Meritnation logoInfoEdge-backed online learning platform Meritnation.com has launched an online lecture program Meritnation LIVE targeted at CBSE students between the classes of 6-10 in India. The program will offer online live classes for Science & Maths from MeritNation chosen faculty.

The company mentions that these lectures will be held “at convenient batch timings” during the evenings & weekends, however these video lectures will also be available on demand later, in case the student misses a lecture. MeritNation claims that the sessions will be spread over 100 hours per subject and will cover the entire syllabus within this period.

Besides this, the program will also consist of dedicated doubt clearing sessions and an assessment module that will comprise topic wise practice questions, and chapter wise tests to check a student’s progress. These reports depicting the student’s strengths and weaknesses will be provided to both parents and students.

In addition, participating Students will also get access to MeritNation’s entire product suite, consisting of ‘unlimited’ tests, practice questions, homework help, study material and other activities. The courses will commence in April 2015 and will cost Rs 8,990. As an introductory offer, MeritNation is also offering online classes for an additional year (i.e. April 2016) within the same package.

WizIQ Classrooms: Bertelsmann-backed WizIQ had also launched live classrooms on iOS & Android in December 2013. This was later extended to WizIQ website earlier this year, when the company launched an online learning marketplace offering live instructor-led courses.

Financials: In May this year, MeritNation had reported operating revenues of Rs 20.28 crore for the financial year ended March 31, 2014 (FY14), more than doubling from Rs 9.82 crore revenues in the previous year.
