Industry moves: Urban Ladder, AppStudioz and Sportskeeda

Manu Prasad appointed as Director of Brand Marketing by Urban Ladder

Manu-PrasadOnline furniture retailer Urban Ladder, has appointed Manu Prasad as its Director of Brand Marketing, effective from the 3rd of November, reports Social Samosa. At his new position, Prasad will report directly to COO and Co-founder Rajiv Srivatsa, and will be responsible for the company’s brand marketing efforts on offline and online social media platforms.

Prasad has over 12 years of experience in brand marketing, social media and advertising and has had stints at Times Group, Myntra.com and GroupM. He has also been responsible for mentoring startups at the Microsoft Ventures Accelerator in Bangalore, and currently continues to write for Bangalore Mirror, for its restaurant reviews column.

Amit Sharma appointed as MD, AppStudioz

amitsharmaMobile apps and ads-as-a-service company Affle, has appointed Amit Sharma as the Managing Director of its mobile apps and analytics platform Affle Appstudioz. The company also confirmed that Saurabh and Snigdha Singh, the previous promoters of Appstudioz, are not longer with the team.

Sharma has been with the Affle team since its inception 8 years ago, and led the International Sales and Delivery team in his most recent role at the company. In previous roles, he also led the Mobile Apps and Operation Services Group and was responsible for deploying Affle’s apps and platforms to publishers, carriers and other partners. Before Affle, Sharma worked at the Indian Express Group as a part of IT, managing infrastructure, communication and security teams.

Affle had acquired Appstudioz in September this year and had merged it with Affle’s Media Labs business.

Sportskeeda hires Shard Sharma as VP, Sales and Marketing

ShardSharmaOnline sports content portal Sportskeeda, has appointed Shard Sharma as the Vice President of its Sales and Marketing, for Indian and international markets, reports afaqs. In his new position, Sharma will be responsible for increasing Sportskeeda’s brand value, monetisation efforts and traffic, through various marketing campaigns. Sharma has over 14 years of experience in marketing, having previously worked at Sify, Rediff, Moneycontrol, Zee Network, Webdunia and Reliance (Zapak).

Sportskeeda currently covers various sports at the national and international level, including football, tennis, badminton, hockey and cricket etc. The website generates content through crowd-sourcing data and claims to have a community of over 200 writers.
