E-commerce roundup: Amazon, Jabong, Flipkart, BigBasket & more

Amazon.in launches three new stores Amazon India has launched its Kannada books, movies and music store on its marketplace. The company claims that this store will offer over 7,300 books, 4700 movies and 2500 music albums. On offer are books from authors like S L Bhyrappa, Ravi Belagere, Kuvempu and UR Ananthamurthy along with Kannada translation of English bestsellers, movies across various genres like action, adventure, romance and drama from directors like Jogaraj Bhatt, Puttana Kanagal and Dinesh Babu among others and albums by Hamsalekha, Harikrishna and Ilayaaraja along with artists from various other genres. Amazon has also launched a Gourmet & Specialty food store and a Kids Party Supplies store. The Gourmet and Specialty food will include assorted gourmet treats, confectioneries, condiments, seasonings and baking supplies from over 155 Indian and international brands, of which the company claims 30 are exclusive deals. The Kids Party Supplies store on the hand claims to offer over 1800 party supplies including merchandise like snow sprays, balloons, noisemakers, and gift masks among others based on popular characters like Mickey, Ben10, Chota Bheem and others. Jabong partners European denim brand G-Star RAW Online fashion store Jabong.com has entered into an exclusive partnership with European denim brand G-Star RAW, to debut its products in the Indian market. The products will include various jeans styles for men and women along with t shirts, jackets, fitted shirts, etc. As of now, Jabong lists about 120 different products from G-Star, including 29 denims, 67 polos and tees, 30 casual shirts, 9 winter wear among others.
