Dogspot.in launches self-branded products

Online pet shop Dogspot.in has launched a private label product line featuring pet supplies for dogs, cats, birds and small animals. The self-branded products fall under categories like, dog toys, crates and cages, dog grooming, accessories, bowls, and collars, among others. Dogspot.in has also launched products under categories like cat toys, bird toys and beddings for small animals. The website claims a total of 150+ products across 27 different categories have been launched. However, current listings indicate 94 products across 22 categories. Last year, Dogspot.in had raised an undisclosed amount in funding from the early stage investor India Quotient. At the time, Dogspot.in co-founder Rana Atheya had told Medianama that they plan to use the funds for product development and launch its own range of products. Why launch a private label? Last year, Atheya had told this publication that while Dogspot.in offered products from more than 50 brands on its portal, there was a huge void in terms of product availability for specific requirements. He believed self-branded products would solve this issue. The company had claimed that it had over 5000 customers for its online pet shop and had delivered more than 15,000 orders across 950 cities in India. The company says it plans to launch over 1000 products under its private label before the end of the year and to that end, will continue launching new products every month.
