The company plans to use the investment to expand to other cities, improve its product and customer care and invest in additional sales and marketing resources. MeraEvents founder & CEO Chennapa Naidu Darapaneni mentions this will also help them raise an additional $4 million investment which is likely to be closed in the next six months.
Post this investment, OMICS International will also be using MeraEvents’ technology solutions for the 300 Scientific and Medical conferences planned during the year.
EasyTag is an event check-in and guest management solution for iPhone, Android and Web. It also allows organizers to design and print event badges while MoozUp is an event networking platform, which allows attendees to interact and access event information before, during and after the event and enables organizers to track attendee engagement and broadcast event updates among others.
DigiBroc allows organizers to distribute digital brochures during exhibition and trade fair events. These brochures may include company sales collaterals, product information and other critical information usually printed in physical brochures.
Venues.Meraevents is a event venues portal which enables organizers find venues for various events in their city and location depending on their budget and number of guests. The site currently offers venues from nine cities including Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai among others.
MeraEvents claims to have provided technology solutions to more than 10,000 events during 2013-14 and hopes to increase this to 25,000 events for 2014-15. The company currently has 40 employees across six cities in India (Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Pune) and hopes to increase it to more than 100 by the end of this fiscal.
Other players in this segment include Explara which recently expanded to the US, UK and South East Asia through local partnerships and Tenmiles’ DoAttend. 500 Startups-backed Instamojo also allows users to sell event tickets.
