Bharti Airtel has appointed Manish Prakash as Director for Enterprise and Government, the company announced. Prakash will report to Gopal Vittal, Joint MD and CEO for Bharti Airtel India and takes over the position from Drew Kelton who left the company in 2013 to join T-Mobile USA. He will be working on consolidating all enterprise and government business of the company. There has been a reshuffle in the management at Airtel recently appointed Harmeen Mehta as the chief information officer and Srinivasan Gopalan as the director for consumer business.
He was earlier working with Accenture as the Managing Director for Infrastructure Managed Services for Asia-Pacific and Japan. Prior to Accenture, Manish was also associated with SK C&C, the affiliate company of SK Telecom in Korea as the Chief Executive Officer of the international business division and served on the Board of the affiliate organizations across China, India, Central Asia and US. He has also held leadership roles at Tech Mahindra, IBM and Hewlett-Packard.
Unilazer Ventures Managing Director Amit Banka has quit the investment firm and is currently serving the notice period, reports Business Standard. Ronnie Screwvala was the founder and advisor at Unilazer, while Banka was responsible for asset allocation and management of funds since he joined in 2012. Since then, Unilazer has invested Rs 100 crore in areas such as agriculture, e-commerce, education and micro housing among others. While four have been venture investments, Screwvala has taken a similar number of bets in angel investing.
Prior to Unilazer he was working with UTV for seven years and was Senior Vice President for Business Development and Strategy by the time he left the firm. During this stint he oversaw fund-raising through public markets, public listing and de-listing of stock in the country and overseas stock exchanges, M&As and divestments across business lines and group’s global Strategy. Before that he worked with Zee Telefilms/Essel Corporate Services as AVP Corporate Films and Strategy.
Manish Kalra, who is the Marketing Head of MakeMyTrip has put in his papers and is now planning to join an e-commerce firm, reports Afaqs. It needs to be noted that him or the company have not confirmed his resignation yet. He joined MakeMyTrip in 2010 and handled the site’s online marketing, channel marketing and alliances.
Before that he was working with Dell, where he was a part of a program targeted at growing high potential managers by providing multifunctional exposure. Prior to that he worked with PepsiCo where he worked as Territory Development Manager. He was also with Citibank National Association, in the corporate sales department in Mumbai.

AIDEM ventures has officially confirmed the appointment of Anand Thakur as National Sales Head for its new Digital Brand Solutions arm Zirca. Anand comes with more than 8 years’ experience in the Digital Media space and will head the sales function for ZIRCA while also looking into data-technology partnerships and sales strategy. He will be working on creating cross-platform solutions around content and research.
Earlier he was Account Manager for BBC Worldwide, where he was deeply involved in analyzing data trends and client performance, developing strong strategic sales plans and conducting strategic pitches. Anand was also a part of pilot team of Star Interactive that strengthened Star India’s digital presence, developing best practices and benchmarking initiatives for video ads.
